Don't be scared of hours of prep time or clean-up with this pressure cooker ham! Holiday dinner will be on the table in no time, and nobody will believe a ham so juicy and flavorful could be so easy.

Pressure Cooker Ham Ingredients

  • Ham, pre-cooked
  • Brown sugar
  • Maple syrup
  • Orange juice
  • Butter
  • Green onions, sliced

There's nothing as comforting as a classic maple brown sugar glaze, and this glaze recipe for ham has been my favorite for years! Adding this sticky-sweet glaze makes a perfectly crispy skin that you might not be able to wait for the holidays to try.

A short list of ingredients means every flavor really shines! A base of brown sugar and maple syrup gives this glaze recipe a delicious and nostalgic taste of autumn, and a splash of orange juice adds tang that the green onions enhance with a savory kick! This brown sugar glaze really proves that just a few ingredients can have so much flavor!

Of course, don't feel limited to just one! Wanting to try something new? Add some spice with the honey sriracha glaze used in my Air Fryer Ham recipe, or whip up a classic honey glazed ham and add your family's favorite flavors!

  3. After 10 minutes, carefully (using an oven mitt or dish cloth) release the pressure.
Carefully lift the ham out of the pot and set aside on a plate.
Drain the excess liquid from the pot.

Pressure Cooker Ham Recipe Tips

  • Always make sure to reverse sear your ham! Reverse searing is the process of searing the sides of meat after fully heating it through. By including this step, you'll caramelize the sweet glaze into a deliciously crispy, browned skin that makes this recipe truly irresistible! If you've never tried this before, you're going to love the results!
  • If you're working with a spiral-cut ham, make sure to add glaze between each and every slice to keep it moist and oh so flavorful!

Instant Pot Ham Cook Times

Smaller or larger hams, as well as bone-in vs boneless ham, will all change the cook time. Bone-in takes longer to cook, as the bone itself must be heated through too! Check out my handy pork temperature chart for more!

  • For boneless ham, heat for roughly 2 minutes per pound.
  • For bone-in ham, heat for roughly 3 minutes per pound.

Bone-In Ham Recipe FAQs

How do you heat ham without drying it out?

Ham dries out when it isn't properly glazed, so make sure to coat the ham in plenty of glaze before heating it! This is essential for spiral-cut ham.

What ham cut is best?

This recipe works with every type of ham, but they all need slightly different heating times. This recipe uses pre-cooked boneless ham, but bone-in will work as well so long as it fits in your cooker. Boneless is easiest to cut on your own, while bone-in boasts incredible flavor. Spiral-cut ham will need extra attention while glazing it but spares you the fuss of cutting!

How long is leftover ham good?

Leftover ham will stay good for 3 to 5 days if refrigerated in an airtight container, or for up to 2 months wrapped in foil and frozen.

What size ham should I use in the Instant Pot?

You should use a ham that weights slightly less than the pot can hold. I use a 5 lb. ham for my 6 qt. Instant Pot, and it's a perfect fit! Make sure to measure your pot before getting a ham, especially if it's bone-in.
