Grilling Pork Chops FAQs

How long do you cook pork chops on the grill?

How long to grill pork chops: grill 1½-inch bone-in pork chops for 15-20 minutes. For thinner or thicker pork chops, the time will need to be adjusted. Always use a meat thermometer to check the doneness of pork chops.

How do you grill pork chops without drying them out?

To avoid pork chops drying out on the grill, carefully monitor the internal temperature using a meat thermometer. Pork chops dry out when they are overcooked, so if you cook them to temperature, they will not dry out. You are looking for an internal temperature of 145℉ for pork chops.

What is the best way to cook pork chops on the grill?

Begin by preheating the grill to high heat. Coat your pork chops with oil on all sides, then season them all over. Place the pork chops on the grill and sear for 5 minutes on each side before reducing the heat to medium-high. At this point, move the pork chops to indirect heat and close the lid. Cook for another 15-20 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145℉.
